  1. Decide .
    Make a decision to choose to invest in your self.  By choosing to keep yourself in optimal health, you are doing what is in your best interest, as well as what is in your family’s best interest.  By being the best you can be, everyone in your world will benefit

    Learn about wellness and all that it entails.  Understand for yourself what wellness is, how it feels, what it looks like.  Be a student of being well.  Take interest in how the choices you make and the things you think about affect your well-being.  Wellness is a journey, a lifestyle, not a destination or an event.  Learn to make the changes in your lifestyle that enhance your journey of wellness.

  3. Know Your Body.
    Learn to understand and really know your own body.  Learn what the parts of your body do and how they should feel.  Study about what happens to your body when it is in a state of dis-ease. Believe in your body’s genetic disposition towards healing and thriving.  Gain self-confidence and know that healing is an inside job!

  4. Get Aligned
    The most important part of maintaining wellness is to keep your body frame in alignment. Your body frame, or skeleton, is made up of your spine and your extremities. These all have joints which attach your bones together and allow you to move properly. When the joints get subluxated, or frozen, your structural and neurological health will suffer consequences.

  5. Move It.
    The best prescription for your health and wellness is free.  Exercise can do more for your health than nearly anything else.  Your body needs to move, to experience resistance, stretching and take in oxygen in order to stay strong and flexible.  You can protect your future by keeping your body toned and fit.

  6. Eat Well
    Look through your refrigerator and cabinets and take inventory of what is in the foods you put into your body.  Many of the foods you eat are filled with chemicals that either help you or hurt you.  Food is the nourishment that your body depends on for fuel and cell regeneration.  Good food is critical to your health and well being.  It is also important to take a daily supplement to compensate for any nutritional lack in your diet.     It is said that we need to practice a new habit every day for thee weeks in order to create a routine. In order for wellness to really work in your life, it must become a routine.  Schedule your needs in your life first so that you always take time to take care of yourself.  We all get busy so easily, that if you do not schedule your wellness needs into your day it might not ever happen.  For the next three weeks, make time each day to exercise, eat nutritious foods, rest and see your wellness team on a regular basis.  After this time, your new routine of wellness will be off to a good start.  Don't stop now- continue to schedule your wellness activities into your day and maintain your best self.

  10. Enjoy It.
    Achieving wellness may seem like a lot of work, but the consequences of not doing so are dire.  People who want to reduce their health risks and improve the quality of life are much more likely to succeed if they create a wellness plan they enjoy.
